Party, Treat, Team Lunch.. Different Names.. Purpose is the same.. Celebrations..!!

3 big treats in a week and I'm delighted. Who would not be? I am a foodie and love to eat a lot which is clearly indicated by my size as well. Pizza Hut has been one of the visited food junctions by me over a period of time. After joining Sanlam, I was supposed to give a joining treat to everyone. However, for different reasons, it was getting postponed. Soon, I discovered that the ones who joined last year too have not complied to this. So, I thought that this is another verbal drama that would go on and on. But then, never did I think that actions would get into action so soon

It began with a treat on Friday by the last year's new joinees (Siddu, Prashant & Dharmender). Of course, I must call myself lucky that I was a part of this party. Had they hosted this party last year, I would not be a part of it. It was planned at . This is a fine restaurant on Brigade road. We all reached the place for lunch. The buffet was ready and we were ready for the ball. There was nice food that everyone, in particular I, enjoyed. I loved the dessets and sweets towards the end of the buffet. It was almost like a maincourse for me. I had some very good ice cream, fruit salad and pasteries. The curd rice & curd vada are items that need a mention here. My tastebuds loved them

It was decided on Friday that the current year new joinees (Robert, Joshin & I) shall be treating everyone on Monday. We agreed and shortlisted the one & only fantastic Pizza Hut for the same. There was some discussion on it and it was postponed to Tuesday

On Tuesday, we noticed a few shortcomings of Pizza Hut for a treat. The major one being that there would no variety and everyone might not like it. After googling in the last moment, we deciding to go to Iris Business Hotel. Iris is conveniently located on Brigade road and we reached there for another buffet lunch. The ambience at this hotel was quite good. It was a small place though. The food too was quite good. My maincourse began towards the end with four flavors of icecream scoops (strawberry, mango, vanilla & chocolate), gulaab jamoons and other sweets

The next was to come from Gyanesh. His was due from a long time for his newborn child. I would not have been a part of this treat as well if it was not delayed. It was scheduled on Friday at Rajdhani in UB City. A lot was heard by me about the service at this place and finally, it was time to experience. At first, someone came with hot water and a portable sink and facilitated hand wash. The wow feeling had begun. There was some very good Rajasthani food served. Juice, Buttermilk, sweet, basundi were special attractions at this place. There was not a single moment where we sat idle. The service was continuous and the items were available instantly along with the waiter. We needn't have to wait for anything. Everyone loved it

A small incident made this day more memorable. We had decided that we shall park vehicles in front of CCD as parking in UB City is a complicated affair. Due to some confusion, we landed in the wrong CCD (CCD Square). We had to lie to the security we are going to CCD to park the vehicle. However, the security noticed that we were going elsewhere. By the time we have lunch and come back, the vehicles were missing. The first thing we did was we went into the CCD sqaure and brought something to prove that we actually went there. Then, we started inquiring with the security and they behaved like James Bond. This was not liked by anyone of us. We knew that what we had done was not right but it was not wrong either considering the city's parking space availability. It is a daily affair. While 2 of us were taking the security for a ride, another 2 (including me) went round searching for the vehicle. Finally, we found both the vehicles. We noticed that both these vehicles were actually pulled or dragged or lifted and placed at different places that where they were actually parked. Nobody should dare to touch vehicles parked in a parking lot and this was what the security at these places is meant for. But then, the security themselves are doing such silly acts. Though we digested this considering that there was a little foul on our end, one of us could not digest. He blasted the security beyond any limits and the security had to put his head down shamelessly. I just said, 'Aapko idhar gaadiyoan ke rakhwali ke liye rakha gaya hai, chedkhani karne ke liye nahi'. The security is meant to guard the vehicles and not to tamper them. While dragging those vehicles, had there been any damage, they would have had their day today

With this, an eventful and foodfull week came to an end. My thanks to all the treaties who signed the chargeslip after the food. 'When and Where's the next one?' is my current status of my mind though I am yet to officially update it as my status message

Someone will not expand in Bengaluru.. Should we get happy, happier or happiest..

It was a journey to my friend's marriage. About 6 of us had joined together near Anand Rao Circle in Bengaluru. We had some food and got into the bus that was destined to Badami. Soon, the bus began cruising & our age old discussions began. Some old memories came into light & we felt good. And soon, the present came into picture and discussions regarding the companies, projects, initiatives, etc started up. Being the only non-software entity amidst them, I just sat to listen. A discussion about Someone being the greatest company in India was initiated by Madhusudan. Very recently, I had read an article in the newspaper indicating that Someone will not be opening up any more offices in Bengaluru & be expanding in Pune & Chennai. I don't know how everyone reacted to this but as a citizen of this garden city, I was one of the most delighted person to listen this news. While everyone would have felt a little sad as business will be lost to other states & jobs will also be lost. But then, I had a totally different perspective. I put up a few points to prove that 'Bengaluru is not what it is because of Someone but Someone is what it is because of Bengaluru'

Someone asked for land and we gave it at almost NIL cost. Analyse this like the 2G spectrum opportunity income lost & the losses would be mind boggling

Someone seeked permissions for a whole lot of things including tax exemptions and all were granted. Someone grew at a fast pace with all support from the State Govt

Someone soon became the top choice of all engineering students. Bengaluru city has the 2nd last number of Engineering colleges in the world and everyone started feeding the produces into Someone. Someone gradually reduced its pay packages, thanks to the goodwill it enjoyed because of the Govt which made all parents ask their children to join Someone irrespective of the packages, and Bengaluru became a source of cheap raw material feeder unit for Someone. The profits soar and Bengaluru cheered the company Someone

Someone started acquiring bigger lands, building bigger campuses, getting bigger projects and became a global software giant. And soon, like any other giant, it forgot what made it a giant. Someone started demanded land, land, land and more land. Someone built stadiums, grounds, gyms, hotels, theatres while Someone is actually a software company. When a few people complained, Someone gave a few ads that proved that it is doing a great work for the society. Someone Foundation came into being. Plantation, Blood donation, Scholarships, Books donation, etc started and the painting resembled that of a social organization

Now, what did I have to complain?

What has Someone given to Bengaluru? Pollution, Traffic Jams, Smoke. A city which was once known as a Garden City is now kind of a barren land. We cut our trees to give land to Someone. We built roads & flyovers for Someone. All taxes collected all over the state were used to build Bengaluru and who enjoyed all this? Its Someone. Above all, tax exemptions were given to entities which made most profits and also the most of others' taxes

Sometimes, I feel, what at least is growth. If what Someone has done can be called as growth, then who would want to grow

Someone has done xxx social contribution. Agreed but is it sufficient? How comparable are you with the Tatas? Have you compared yourselves with them in the field of social work? That is the first lesson to learn. For each sapling planted, there are 10 ads given in the newspaper. Is it a great work? What is the actual number of trees that have been axed because of you? Dont only consider your campus, consider all the properties purchased by you, your employees and everyone related to you. Can you imagine the amount of damage? Is what you are doing enough to cover this damage? You have brought in the trend of cutting trees & building flyovers. The Govt has got used to this. Now, they even want to axe trees on Jayamahal Road irrespective of howmuchever effort we make to save them. The Govt will say that they will plant 10 trees for each tree cut but where is the space to plant the trees and who is going to count the number of trees planted by them

Very recently, a large number of saplings were planted on the centre of road to compensate for cutting trees at some other place. The environmentalists were happy that there was something done to compensate. But then, once they took off their minds from it, these saplings were axed to make way for the Metro. Nobody took a thought on this as these saplings had not yet marked their presence. They were not even accounted as they were still small and people never felt a difference when these were cut. And thus, we were tricked. By the way, who suggested these tricks to the Govt to fool people. I'm sure that such a strategic plan would never come in the minds of the Govt employees. It would need a high amount of intelligence misuse for personal benefit. Obviously, it should be the one who want the flyovers to be built. So, what is growth? Is it Flyovers? Roads? Buildings? If yes, shouldn't every nation construct roads and buildings in every nook and corner and prove that they are the best nation in the world?

In my opinion, the growth of a nation depends on how happy are its citizens. Anyone would want to sit in a park rather than stand on the roadside. Of course, that doesn't mean we will not build flyover, buildings, etc. It would be foolish to say that. Infrastructure is a very important aspect for the citizens. Anything adding to public convenience like a better transport system, an alternate route, etc. adds value and happiness to people and growth to the nation. But then, trying to overdo something causes a juggernaught and created inconveniences. Like someone said in the campaign against axing of trees on Jayamahal Road, 'We do not need wide roads. We need smarter traffic management'

I have nothing against Someone or anyone as I write this. I have only referred it to as an example of how growth is not what is seen but it is what is felt. Ultimately, its the happiness index that matters the most than any other indices, ratios, percentages and other equations. But then, it was hurting for every Bangalorean and everyone from Karnataka when Someone said that it will not expand anymore in Bengaluru and blamed the Government delay for its decisions. If Someone is a child, Karnataka is its mother. A mother would only want to see her child happy and successful irrespective of whether the child gives back something to her or not. There is nothing that makes us feel bad that Someone will not expand in Bengaluru. In fact, I, and a lot of people who are concerned about the environment, am happy for this decision that will boost other cities' & states' economy. But putting the blame on the mother is something that was quite hurting. I am sure no one would have taken that except mother herself for the kind of big-hearted person she is

Had I been in her place, I would asked the exisitng offices to be relocated to elsewhere. We have abundance of talent, resources and there are a huge number of companies waiting to take up our work and do it faster, better and at a lower price. And of course, give us back all that we have have given you. The land at the same price (NIL) at which we gave you. The building at their cost less depreciation. The tax exemptions that you have enjoyed. The taxes that you have evaded by dirty tactics. Pay for the environmental damages. And then, you will see for yourself how a cash rich company will file a suit for bankruptcy to hardly even meet 1% of what we ask. We will sell these at market values to upcoming companies or to the likes of Tatas and the state, rather the nation, will be free of debt. Of course, we do not mind giving all this free of cost to them like we gave you but we would definitely take the precaution to ensure that they don't turn deceits

We never made a big news out of it. We did not blame Someone. We just smiled and said, 'All the best'. Had Someone come to us and told the problems it is facing and asked for help, like it did earlier, we would have put our lives at work to ensure they get what they want. However, the story is different. Ego seems to have grown to a remarkable extent and it is a better option to let the egoistic people go rather than hold them

PS: Whatever I have written is in a lot of agony and does not go in the right spirit. I have blamed more than required. I understand that I am wrong and yet I want to convey these thoughts for these came on to our minds and one day, these might come on to everyone's mind and make it difficult for the IT giant. I wish to corrected wherever I am wrong so that everyone who got these thoughts on their minds do not continue with them. I only wish that whatever I have thought should be proved wrong. Because, if there is one company that we all have loved and one company which has made India proud, its Someone. The very point that a huge number of people are leading a great life because of what Someone has done. Someone is like parents for a large number of us. But then, things are slowly taking turn. Before anything major happens, the people who actually love Someone should get Someone on the right path and ensure things go on like they did till a few months back. The past was beautiful but the present is taking an ugly picture. I wish the past comes back to the present

Media upset with World Cup victory.. Need to ban negative news..

Panic, Pain, Problem.. These are the words which create interest in the minds of people of India whose brains are traditionally built in a way to over react to negatives. We all know that the media brings up every kind of problem from every nook and corner of the nation to ensure that we get the insider information of everything happening. Well, my sincere thanks to them who are into constructive journalism and trying to make a difference to the way the nation functions. I have my appreciations for the media persons who have brought before us the scams of 2G, red tapism, money laundering, etc. and in many cases, helped to solve problems or punish those who caused the problem. However, I feel disappointed at how the problems are only resolved but there is no step taken to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Perhaps, if it is ensured that a problem does not happen again, the media would not have any stories to tell. One thing that has been very annoying is the counter attack of other channels to prove their supremacy by adding mirch masala flavor to the news. By the time each news channel completes cooking, the dish would have turned unconsumable. There are a thousand examples where things are blown beyond required levels in the name of freedom of speech, expression, etc. only until the next news is ready. Lets see how the media has dealt with Cricket in the past few months

The IPL Saga
I begin it with IPL. Lalit Modi, a super hero, created a super business model and reached a super level of success. Of course, like anyone, he would want to keep the super profits for himself. Knowing that the it is not possible in India considering the tax laws, regulations, people, etc., his supermind designs a superplan and he becomes a superman. And our super media gets into his life and turns the super revenue model into a super scam. Every channel, every reporter, every anchor spoke only and only about Mr Modi and Mr Modi made every effort to prove that he was innocent. All this went on for quite some time till the media got the next big news flash. And now, we all don't know what exactly happened afterwards except that someone else replaced him. Did he break law or did he make use of the law to his advantage? If yes, how? Do we need to strengthen law? Which clause did he take advantage of? Should we amend that clause? Is it amemnded? Are people informed about the amendment? I would call answers to these questions as positive journalism. However, what we have seen is only negative criticism. Mr Modi took it knowing that the media will stop troubling him after some time. And now, I am sure, he can proudly say, 'Naanu Super Ranga..!!'. If not, I will say that. Because, till now media has only blamed & accused him but proved nothing. It hopped to a new news when there was no more masala in it anymore. I salute him for the fantastic format of sport introduced by him to the world. I will remember him as the Father of IPL. I never found anything wrong in what he did

Lets now come to the World Cup. The entire country is in the best of its moods celebrating the greatest achievement of the Indian Cricket Team till date. Even Mr Kapil Dev clearly said that this victory is far better than 1983 and was far difficult too. Everyone is so happy, so enthusiastic, so thrilled, so excited that we are only seeing joy, happiness, celebration everywhere. And the news channels are worried & upset. There is nothing wrong happening and its too early for the IPL drama. No one in India turns to see joy on a news channel. However, if you showcase sorrow, disaster, problems, wrongs, negatives, scams, pains, etc., you are bound to get the maximum viewership. When the whole nation is enjoying and happy, what do the newschannels show then? They have found news. Lets see what kind of news has been shown on these channels

India given a fake trophy
Its a very simple news. There is trophy, a rolling trophy, which is called the World Cup (Lets call it Cup 1). This cup is given to the winning team. It has the names of all the teams who have won it from 1975. The winning team has to return this trophy to ICC after the celebrations. The ICC will in return give a replica of the trophy/cup (Lets call it Cup 2) to the team to be kept as a memoir. In this case, ICC had to actually give the Cup 1 to India on April 2nd, Team India would celebrate and then return it to ICC. ICC will take back Cup 1 & in turn will give Cup 2 to Team India to be kept in India as a memoir. However, Team India was given the Cup 2 directly. ICC brought 2 cups to India. Cup 1 is in the customs office. According the Indian Customs law, the ICC is supposed to pay tax of Rs 22 lacs to take the cup into the nation. To avoid paying this tax, ICC decided to give Cup 2 to the winning team directly. Now, we seem to be have become too hurt for this and blaming ICC, Customs, Law, politicans and a whole lot of people. What if Sri Lanka had won the match? Would we feel cheated or hurt? Where is the problem? Firstly, I do not blame the ICC because it did not try to cheat India. It only tried to avoid tax (not evade) by giving the Cup 2 directly to the winning team (It would have been SL as well). Money saved is money earned. ICC also is a commercial entity. Secondly, I do not blame the law because any item brought to India from other nations is supposed to be taxed. Its a source of income for the nation. Thirdly, I do not blame the Customs Dept. In fact, I appreciate it for having stood by the law. I am sure, most of us would have been tempted to do some hulla gulla and let the trophy be taken on to the field. After all, its a World Cup and above all, India might be winning it. Fourthly, I do not blame the Government. I would rather congratulate the Govt for showing superior strength and support to the game. They have already exempted income from the world cup from taxes. What more can you expect? India has let go all its income from this event. Further, they even gave an option to ICC asking them to make the payment of the applicable tax because as per the current list, they are supposed to tax the trophy. However, they would put up a proposal to exempt and upon approval, the tax shall be refunded. There was a dearth of time and this was the best possible solution. But ICC did not consider this. Now, media has made a hype over this news and it has been taking headlines all over. One major reason is that there is no other high intensity news for the moment. Even the minor earthquake that happened in North India was not able to catch the headlines as no one was in a mood to listen. The tremors of the earthquake were higher in the media rooms than on spot where it occured. The solution to this problem is to include 'World Cup & Other trophies in respect of sporting events' in the list of items exempted from duty. And a construtive media will follow up, ensure the amendment and announce it once done. I would love to welcome it. Honestly, if I was a news channel owner, I would have tried my best to not make such news public. Or at least, get the entire information, get the right result and publish what happened and what should have actually happened. There is no meaning in hurting the nation when it is having such a jovial time. How would a player feel when after all this effort and joy of success, he is told that he was given a fake trophy on that historic night? I really fail to understand what compelled the media to wash its dirty linen in the public. After all the hype, we might get back the trophy but can media get back that time or moment? I am sure that the media will not get back anything. In 2 days, the IPL will begin and you should be ready with your templates to scratch players' arse like you kept doing during the entire world cup. Dhoni's was the one which you .. the most and now you are all praises for him

Sachin Tendulkar & his retirement
Every news channel is in a rush to announce Sachin's retirement and Sachin is not ready to retire yet. After every match, every series, one question that everyone is bent upon asking is, 'Are you retiring after this?' and Sachin has only one answer, 'I am enjoying my game too much to retire'. The media has been in a competition to announce, 'Breaking news, first on my channel, Sachin retires, Master Innings come to an end, etc' and capitalize on the market of pain, problem and miseries. In fact, today, I saw one channel almost doing it. In an interview, Sachin was asked about the next world cup. Sachin, humbly & honestly, said that 2015 is very far and may be, he would not be playing. Even before he could complete his words, the breaking news was flashed. 'Sachin not to play next world. Sachin will not play WC 2015'. And immediately Sachin clarified that he will continue and it is too early to comment anything about 2015. The channel hyped and chewed this for more than 2 hours. No news at all today, I guess. Rather, no sad news at all today, I guess. The whole country is celebrating victory, Ugadi and the media has no negative news to pull the crowd. TRPs dropping. At least they hoped that Sachin will announce retirement considering that his final dream of winning World Cup has come to true. But Sachin is not letting that happen. He has set new dreams for new goals and he will set newer records. Why should he retire? Ask retirement questions to someone else. In fact, you should have asked these questions to Kumble, Dravid, Ganguly, Srinath, etc. before they retired. But you asking this to a newly born Tendulkar who has still a long way to go. Like Viv Richards said, 'I would not be surprised if he lifts the next World Cup as well'. What is the media's problem with Sachin? Why do you want him to retire? Just to boost your viewership ratings announcing it (I guess you will have to wait for years together for this). Each time Sachin has been in a little difficulty, you have tried to pull his legs but each time, he has kicked you back strongly. And the last kick at least was, I guess, on your mouths and now you are afraid of speaking anything ill of him or his form or his performance. Now that you don't have the guts to speak rubbish (more rubbish, more viewership) of anyone from Team India, you want him to retire so that you can take class on Team India. Today, he has again made it very clear that it is too early for him to speak about retirement from any form of game. It means that he will not let you make a mess of Team India. What a bunch of fools..!! And what a bunch of fools listening..!! Yes, its we, we all

1 crore for players, 50 lacs for coach.. Why the difference?
Everyone is busy discussing about the trophy and a news channel made all efforts to search for a different news so that it can get the crowd towards it. Finally, they got it. According to them, the Govt has cheated Gary Kirsten by giving only Rs 50 lacs and the players Rs 1 crore. My dear Media, what is wrong with your basic knowledge. Let me enlighten you. There are two categories of people in Team India. One is the players who will be with bat and ball in hand wearing blue color dress most of the time and actually playing the game. The other is the support staff like coach, manager, etc. who will support the players with their needs, requirements, skills, upliftment, etc. The BCCI announced Rs 1 crore for people under player category and 50 lacs for people under support staff category. Its simple mathematics. Where is the problem? Gary Kirsten himself does not have a problem. In fact, he is delighted to receive the additional income. What is bothering you? No news? BCCI does not have a sub category among the support staff as coach and non coach. In that case, they could have taken a decision to give 1 crore to coach category and 50 lacs to non coach category. And then, you would ask, why 1 crore was given to Gary Kirsten. Its a personal bias. All support staff should be treated equally. And if BCCI gives 1 crore to all, you will say, 'Is there no difference between players who sweat out and give their life to the game and those who just sit and do administrative work'. What kind of loser news are you trying to portray. We should not be suprised if, tomorrow, another channel comes up with an excel sheet telling us how much Cricker has costed to the exchequer, who will have to bear it, why was so much amount given to cricketers, does the Govt not consider beggars on the streets as Indians, when there is no food to eat & no good infrastructure & no water facilities, why are you giving so much money to cricketers who are already earning from match fees and above all from advertisements, why this difference? Also dig on why Delhi Govt gave Dhoni 2 crores and other only 1 crore? Why Yedyurappa is giving sites to Team India (I never understood why everything done by our CM is relating to land)? Come on, Dig, Digg, Diggg.. Dig you Pig..!! Make it Big..!!

Yuvraj's special person is Sachin
As if we never knew. We all know what Team India is and what Cricket is. We don't need to learn from you. So, this did not get successful in becoming a breaking news though it was flashed as one, like everyone

There was hardly any emphasis on what all went into Team India glorious success. Perhaps, news channels should have concentrate on interacting with players and find how things happened, what was on their minds, how they made a dream come true, what difficulties they faced, how they solved them, how they managed their families, how they managed the fans, the criticism, the people, what lesson do we have to learn from them, what is their message to the youngsters out there, etc. That would be the best of the program to watch. I am sure you would have the best viewership numbers too

The duty of media is to stop a rape and not to film it and display it as a breaking news, announce that the tape is exclusively with them and set a panel for discussion about who raped whom, how, where, what compelled them, etc. Ultimately, the fact would be a husband and wife story. And immediately, you switch on to the new breaking news online and offline, make the victims shut up and get lost by doing the needful. After all, most Indians are poor and would not refuse monetary benefits just to keep shut

Till today, I thought you are doing a fantastic job by exposing the misdoings of people. I thought that with the kind of exposure that is happening, corruption in India should have already come to an ended. But there are no implications of even a slowdown. Murders happen everyday. Rapes happen everyday. Corruption happens everyday. There is no effort to stop anything. The effort is only to expose it. Now, I have understood you are only making a shit out of the nation and the people. If India is looked down upon as a corrupt nation, its because of you. Because you do not want corruption or anything negative to end. You want it to be your daily breaking news. Its your bread and butter. How different are you from the corrupts?

Sad Media, Sad, you are a Saddist. Wake up before we come and discuss on the big topic 'Should we ban news channels showing negative news?' on your own news channel before you and rip you off with your own templates. You have made every attempt to taint every good thing that happens. Though successful in most cases and creating a feeling that India is bad, Indian politicians are bad, Indian leaders are cheat, Indian corporates are lobbyists, etc, there are some cases where you will never ever be able to even casue the lightest rupture. Cricket is one such case. We know better than you. We don't need media or any channel for it. Now, I feel, Shahid Afridi has rightly spit on you. You deserve it for showing India so cheaply to the world term every problem the nation faces as scam, scandal, etc. rather than trying to find the problem and get a permanent solution. You only know to rip off, scratch, pinch, poke and tear. You don't know how to join, stitch, unite and support. Hope you will learn something someday to do some good to the nation rather than just bring out what is bad. Thats all in today's news across all news channels. There were some tit bits like why Dhoni got a hair cut, why Yuvraj gave tickets for final match to Ameesha Patel, Shilpa Shetty cried seeing Yuvi break out after victory and the Great Poonam Pandey Show (one must learn to use media like her. She tapped the right fools - media at the right time - world cup and got the right result - celebrity like publicity for free), etc

Chalo, Chalo utho, bahut ho gaya.. Main aur kitna likhoonga aur tum aur kitna padoge. Yeh toh inka roz ka drama hai.. Do din mein IPL shuru hone wala hai aur yeh toh bas tab tak ke liye time pass hai..

RBI's new interest rate policy & its effect

I thought of writing this piece of information long back in Jan but I kept forgetting

I am sure you all might be aware of the change in the calculation of interest payout for savings account

Though the interest rate remains same, the actual interest earned will be comparatively higher. Specially, the salary account holders will be on a fair advantage

Here is how

Old Rule of paying interest on savings account- See the closing balances of the day from 10th of a month to the last day of the month. Whichever is the lowest, it shall be the amount that will be considered to pay interest

An illustration
Date - Balance - Reason
01 - 50000 - Yesterday, salary was credited (40000) and there was a balance of 10000 earlier
02 - 45000 - Rent paid (5000)
03 - 44000 - Petrol/Diesel (1000)
04 - 42000 - School fees (2000)
05 - 39000 - Loan EMI (3000)
06 - 39000 - No txn
07 - 39000 - No txn
08 - 36000 - Mutual fund SIP (3000)
09 - 36000 - No txn
10 - 36000 - No txn
11 - 30000 - Grocery, shopping, sunday fun, movie, masti, etc
12 - 30000 - No txn
13 - 30000 - No txn
14 - 30000 - No txn
15 - 30000 - No txn
16 - 30000 - No txn
17 - 30000 - No txn
18 - 30000 - No txn
19 - 30000 - No txn
20 - 27000 - Electricity bill, water bill, telephone bill, Medical expenses
21 - 25000 - Wife
22 - 15000 - A very close friend in need of money, he will return it as soon as salary comes
23 - 15000 - No txn
24 - 15000 - No txn
25 - 14000 - Petrol
26 - 14000 - No txn
27 - 14000 - No txn
28 - 12000 - General expenses
29 - 12000 - No txn
30 - 62000 - Salary 40000 & friend returns 10000

Now, check the balances from 10th & 30th of the month. The lowest of these balances is Rs 12000. Thus, you shall be paid interest on Rs 12000

New Rule wef 01 April 2010- The interest shall be paid on the average balance maintained through the month

To find the average balance, we have to total the balances for 30 days and divide it by 30

The total of the daily closing balances is Rs 901000. And thus, the average balance is Rs 30033.33

And you shall earn interest on Rs 30033.33

This is going to be a bad hit for the banks but the general public would be benefited. Please note that the interest on loans is calculated is in the same way. One must thank RBI for its initiatives that have made Indian Banking Sector such a beautiful arena. Perhaps, the RBI is the major reason for BANK NIFTY to keep rising all the time

India to win World Cup 2011.. Decided way back in 2003 @ SSBJ..!!

The big news is here and the whole world has a story to tell about how they cruised through these moments. I too have my story but this story is not about me. The Indian Cricket Team has finally brought the cup back home after 28 years. Its the cup that matters. Its a cup that my generation has been wanting from 1996. Seeing Vinod Kamli in tears in the World Cup 1996 semi final and India declaring at 120/8 still hits on my mind and that perhaps is the first moment that I remember when I felt that, 'Yes, We need this Cup. This is the cup that matters'. I, in fact I can rather say my generation, had just started just started hooking on to cricket. Navjot Singh Siddhu's 90 runs in the match before against Pakistan is still so live on my mind. Javagal Srinath & Anil Kumble going on to the field requesting the crowd to stop agitating and let the match go on is so cleanly recorded in my brain and I feel it happened just a few days back. This was the starting point of my interest in this game called Cricket and like every Indian child from my generation, I too felt that I will, one day, be a 'Man in Blue' some day

The 1999 World Cup is not much on my mind. That was perhaps I was in Sainik School and the TV facility had some issues during the world cup. We used to secretrely go to homes/quarters of staff, waiters, cooks, workers or anywhere where there was a TV and watch the matches

The 2003 World Cup is another beautiful memory. I was in Class XI and India were the favorites. It was almost decided that Ganguly will lift the Cup. The Indian Team was performing exceedingly well and even I had my big hopes. Team India was covering each obstacle one by one in style and marching towards the victory. We had a lot of interest in cricket. Of course, every Indian does. But then, like every Indian, we felt that, perhaps, we are the greatest fans of Team India and Cricket. Any comment on our favorite player or Team India is taken as a personal insult and there is nothing surprising even if we landed up wrestling each other
The World Cup fever was ON and India was in the quarter finals. We all were discussing about what might happen in the future. We were thinking on all possibilities, so much so many that even the Indian team would not have thought about. Every permutation and combination was written on paper and discussed about as if we are playing the match on the ground. Sometimes, we used to plan the fielding set up for Team India. It was all a crazy time. India won the quarter finals and we, like every Indian, took the credit for it. Our discussions never seemed to end. I do not quite much remember what all we used to discuss as it was something that happened 8 years back but this one particular discussion has been on my mind at all the time. Each time I think of Cricket, Team India or World Cup, this particular discussion has come on my mind almost all the times. I never tried to pen it down or discuss about it as I kept ruling it out as a casual talk. But this casual talk occupied some portion of my brain, perhaps, because there was something against our wishes and we just did not want to listen though it kept coming to our minds. I have tried to give the exact wordings of what happened further between us at Sainik School Bijapur way back in 2003

As mentioned, we felt that we are the greatest cricket fans at SSBJ and India will lift World Cup 2003. India had won the quarter finals and found its way to the semi finals. A day before the semi finals, after our dinner, about 5-6 of us were in the antee room (kind of dressing room) getting fresh and ready for the night preps (study at night). We were discussing about tomorrow's match and I was full Gung Ho for tomorrow's victory. In fact, I had also decided that I shall be getting parathas from Malabar to celebrate the victory. While everyone was with me, there was one voice that was a little different

We were very angry when Ragahvendra said, "I don't know about tomorrow's match but India will not win the world cup. So, do not fly too much Bunty'

I said, 'Oh, as if you will tell and it will happen. Bl**dy hell, I bet, Ganguly will lift the cup'.

Mahantesh, Ganguly's fan, said, 'Le punya, with Raghya you never know, whatever he tells will come true'

I said, 'F**k you and your prediction. It doesn't take you and your great head to win the World Cup. Just because he has scored 90 marks in exam doesn't mean he can say anything and it will happen. If that was the case, why would you have to do anything in life'

Vittal or somebody said something regarding left handed captains lifting the world cup in some order or combination and proved mathematically that only Ganguly would lift the cup. Raghu was listening to all this quietly and I was on the top of my toes for rupturing him for having spoken something against our hope. Sometimes, human beings react so funnily

I continued peeling out his nerves, 'So, according to you, who will win the cup?'

Raghu said, 'I don't know'

Somebody interrupted, 'Stop it Punya, how much will you trouble him? If India loses, he will run all over you and make a shit of you'

'No, I will not stop. Who asked his expert advice? I never asked. Now that he has given, I want to make use of his expertise. So Mr Raghavendra the Genuis, can you also enlighten us with who will win the next world cup also?', I said in a rude, sarcatic and hurting way

'I don't think India will win it in 2007 but India will win the World Cup 2011', he said and just walked out of the room

We were dumbstruck for a moment

'Ah, great, when they can't win now, what they will win after 8 years when Sachin will not be there to play' said Vittal, a great fan of Sachin

'You've gone mad. F**k off. As if you are some great mahatma. I bet India will win the World and that too in a week's time. Keep watching', I said. I did not stop here. I went around the barrack and a whole lot of places and said Raghya is such a big fool thinking of himself as a genius. We made is a real big issue. I even remember Mallu someone asking him to go and eat shit. But then, never did we all, and especially me, realize that we were in the process of making a fool of ourselves. How would we? The spirit to lift the cup was so much in me and all of us that we just could not take anything coming in our way. Just nothing

Everyone in the room supported me and we were ready to lift the cup untill Australia scored more than 350 runs in the final and Ponting's touch to every ball took it beyond the boundaries. It was a very disappointing moment for everyone and more for me (like everyone felt). The 2003 dream was shattered. Raghya never came to me or to anyone of us reminding us about what he had told on that day. Neither did I go to blame him as I had already made a mess of a small statement which practically had no impact. There are a thousand people with hundred opinions each. Who or what all will Ganguly or Team India hear? Of course, Raghya, like everyone, was more hurt by India losing the final and would not want to take any credit for his guessing or prediction skills. But it was on the back of our minds. Somewhere a few days down the line, we had a chat about this in his absence and I said, 'This is merely a coincidence. There is nothing more'

Everyone agreed and gave their points

Someone said, 'If at all there is something in what happened on that day, India has to miss WC 2007 and win WC 2011. Only then will it prove that there was something'

'Don't expect three things (Loss in 2003, Loss in 2007, Win in 2011) to happen as per his words and then call it a coincidence', someone said, 'Nobody has even thought of 2007 but he has already commented on 2011'

'If that happens, it will be a mysterical history but I am sure it will not. Either we should win the next one or we should lost the next to next one and then Raghya will be proved wrong', I said

With this, we concluded our discussions on the World Cup and got back to studies. Our seniors were already firing us for not studying properly due to the matches. There were some expectations of the school, our teachers and our parents too which we had to take care of

In 2004, we completed our Class XIIth and moved out of SSBJ in attempts to reach our goals in life. While some started with success joining the Armed Forces, some started scripting it joining Medical & Engineering courses and some were Confused (which included me)

The World Cup 2007 came and India had an early exit. Raghya's words were still on my mind after 4 years. And with this, his second statement had come true. But then, the third one was the most difficult one. World Cup needs consecutive victories as there is a knock out at each stage. Its not a big deal to predict a team as losing as the chances are more than 90% (11 out of 12 teams will not win the cup) that a team will lost. So, there was no big credit for anyone to predict that India will not win WC 2007

The World Cup 2011 created a history. India performed, performed and performed to add this glory to their crown. And today, the last statement of what Raghya said on that day has come true. Call it coincidence, call it luck, call it guess, call it a great prediction, call it whatever, I can only call it a fact that has made a difference to lives. My late grandfather had once told me, 'Never ever speak ill of anyone or anything in your life. Never even think ill of anything at any point of time. Because, everyday, God gives every human being a timeframe when whatever he is wishing will come true. Its better you slap your enemies but don't wish anything ill for them'. Perhaps, Raghya had that moment, that 5-10 seconds of timeframe and he wished that India should win WC 2011. Be the reason whatever, I cherish this amazing feeling of being alive and being a witness to India lifting the World Cup. It has been a great moment. But the happier person must be Raghya. I am not sure even if he or anyone remembers this. On a lighter note, I am very sure that if India had lost this match, I would have made all these memories come back to everyone's life and peeled off Raghya's skin and put him into deep trouble for his guess not coming true and and put him to shame/blame or whatever

I don't really know what to say on this. On a lighter note, I should have made use of this gyan and placed some big bets and made a fortune out of it. It still keeps me in a big confusion when I look back and see what has happened. Having said this, all I would want to say to conclude it is that it was a fantastic effort by everyone in India - The Team, The Staff, The People, The Fans and of course The Predictors like Bejan Daruwalla and our own Raghya the Predictor (predicting what will happen in this cup itself is difficult & he has foreseen 3 world cups and predicted the future's history in making) - and I had a superb time through this world cup. I salute everyone for bringing these moments into our lives
We will cherish them for a lifetime
